Museum Statement on COVID-19 Closure

Since opening the museum doors nine years ago, nothing has been more paramount than the health and safety of our guests and staff. Social distancing guidelines, indoor restrictions, and recommended alterations to our interactive exhibits due to COVID-19 have challenged the museum’s ability to reopen and provide meaningful hands-on educational experiences for young learners. After recent consultations with our pediatric advisors, the museum’s Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to remain closed at this time. We will monitor the reopening progress within local school districts and reassess our reopening plan in mid-September. All museum memberships will be extended by the number of months the museum is closed.

As a non-profit charitable organization, we depend on your continued support & understanding to make it through these challenging times. We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible and getting your kids back to the important work of exploring, discovering, and playing! In the meantime, we will continue to provide educational activities and resources on our website and social media platforms, work on exhibit renovations and facility improvements, and keep our community informed as we move through the days ahead.
