We are also closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas so our team can spend time with their families. Visit the Calendar for up to date hours and events. Additionally, the museum closes for annual maintenance the week after Labor Day.
Advanced Ticketing
- Advanced timed-entry tickets is strongly recommended for both members and nonmembers. Please arrive within your reserved entry time. Note that guests will not be admitted before their designated entry time.
- The last entry is at 3:00 pm. Please be aware that the museum closes at 3:30 on most Saturdays.
- Advanced tickets are strongly recommended. Walk up tickets are limited and are not guaranteed. We also encourage you to reserve tickets for your entire party in one order, as time slots may sell out quickly.

Parking
Union Square is a Pay and Display parking lot. Use the kiosks located throughout the parking lot to print a ticket and display on your dashboard. Both Credit Cards & the Parkmoblie App can be used at the kiosks. Parking in Union Square generally costs $1.00 for every 30 minutes.
Make parking in New Hope easier! Use the Parkmobile smartphone app. The Museum lot is zone 8925.

What ages of children will enjoy the museum?
Our exhibits are designed for young children from 12 months (walking) up to 7 years of age who enjoy pretend play! The museum also has an Exploration for All Program which helps children with disabilities prepare for and experience the museum in a way that works for them.
How long is the average visit?
The museum is approximately 9,000 square feet and the average visit lasts 90 minutes.
When is the museum busiest?
We are busiest on weekday mornings and weekends. Typically, the museum is less crowded after 1:00 pm.
Where can I park?
Metered parking is available throughout Union Square. Please pay for parking at one of the many kiosks labeled “P” and display the ticket on your dashboard. Costs average $1.00 for every 30 minutes. The kiosks that accept credit cards or you can download the Parkmobile parking app.
Can we bring food into the museum?
Food is not allowed within the gallery areas. Peanut products are not allowed anywhere inside the museum! Eating is allowed in our multipurpose room most Tuesday-Sundays until 3pm. Snacks can always be enjoyed in our lobby or outside on the patio.
Where can we eat?
On a sunny day, enjoy a picnic outside on our bench areas. There are various restaurants located within walking distance and HG Pizza is a short drive away.
Can we go out and come back in again?
Yes. A paid admission gives you in-and-out privileges all day.
Can I bring a stroller into the museum?
Due to space limitations, we ask that strollers stay in cars or in our lobby area. Strollers may be used for the comfort of sleeping babies.
Do you offer any accommodations for children with special needs?
Yes! We have Sensory Backpacks available for check-out at the ticket booth. The bags include earmuffs, sunglasses and a fidget toy.
Where can I leave my coat?
Storage cubbies are available inside the Museum. The Museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Is there a nearby family friendly hotel?

How often is the museum cleaned?
Our staff constantly monitors our exhibit areas and sanitizes the surfaces within the museum on a daily basis. All toys and dress ups are washed daily. A professional cleaning service also sanitizes the museum regularly. We also have a hand washing area for children adjacent to our lobby and hand sanitizer units are located throughout the museum for adult use. The museum closes for annual maintenance the week after Labor Day.
Do you have family friendly restrooms?
Yes! Our bathrooms have step stools for kids as well as a diaper changing station. We supply zip lock bags so that dirty diapers can be taken home for disposal. We also accept donations of diapers, wipes and other comforts for our changing room.
What is your security policy?
To keep our visitors safe we require all children to be accompanied by an adult and no adults are allowed into the museum without a child. For the safety of our young visitors, adults unaccompanied by children will not be allowed admission without prior arrangements with the Museum’s staff.
Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
The Bucks County Children’s Museum is ADA compliant, one level and most exhibits are accessible by wheelchair.
Directions
From Philadelphia and South (including Philadelphia Airport)
• I-95 North to New Hope (Exit 51 – old exit 31) immediately before crossing Scudders Falls bridge to NJ (approximately 50 minutes to an hour).
• Bear left towards New Hope at end of exit ramp. You will be on Taylorsville Rd.
• Continue for five miles (through two traffic lights) until road intersects with Rt. 32 / River Road.
• Make a left on to Route 32 / River Road for another 5 miles into New Hope. River Road will become Main Street as you continue into New Hope.
• Once in New Hope, continue through town until the first stop light at the intersection of Bridge and Main streets.
• Turn left onto Bridge Street (Rt 179)
• Continue on Bridge Street for approximately 1 block until you see New Hope and Ivyland Railroad on your right side.
• The next drive on your right will be Union Square. Turn Right.
• Metered Parking is available on-site
From Northern/Central New Jersey (including Newark Airport)
• I-287 or I78 and then I-287 to Somerville (NJ).
• Rt. 202 South from Somerville 30 minutes to Toll Bridge over Delaware River.
• Exit right-hand side immediately after paying toll.
• Turn right at foot of off-ramp (South on Rt. 32 a.k.a. River Road)
• Continue into New Hope (5 minutes) through stop light at Bridge St. and Rt. 32/River Road
• Turn right onto Bridge Street (Rt 179)
• Continue on Bridge Street for approximately 1 block until you see New Hope and Ivyland Railroad on your right side.
• The next drive on your right will be Union Square.
